Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour championship, took control to create a third set.
Moutet saved four initial chances in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
